Make no mistake, these are not the six best running backs on the board, but they are the six best picks by position that you can make on draft day. Based on where they are currently being selected (ADP) in fantasy drafts, these players provide maximum value for their forecasted fantasy returns in 2006.
For those of you who have already drafted, it’s not too late as we recommend trading for these Top Six Running Back Steals! If you plan on winning your league make sure to get a few of these gems on your team this season!
M. Anderson: Baltimore ADP: 11.03
Anderson has a nose for the end zone and there is a reason the Ravens gave him 8 million dollars (hint: it's not to sit on the bench.)!
M. Barber II: Dallas ADP: 8.06
Julius Jones had a great second half of his rookie season, when he was finally healthy enough to play. Last year, Jones was injured again and when he did play, he was mostly unspectacular. If Jones gets off to a slow start again, Barber will once again find himself in the starting lineup where he showed flashes of promise last season.
D. Staley: Pittsburgh ADP: 13.04
Aside from one long run in the Superbowl, what did Willie Parker really do last year. In fact, who is Willie Parker. It's even money that Parker falls flat this year and if he does, Duce will be there waiting for Fantasy glory.
D. Williams: Carolina ADP: 7.07
D. Foster is like one of those goldfish you win at a carnival…before you know it you're flushing him down the toilet. Carolina will produce a great RB this year and there is a great chance it will be 1st round pick DeAngelo Williams.
G. Jones: Jacksonville ADP:9.09
Is there anything more certain than Fred Taylor getting hurt? When he does, Greg Jones showed last year that he has the potential to be a starter in this league. In limited action he averaged over 4 ypc against Pittsburgh and Baltimore in critical games last year.
B. Calhoun: Detroit ADP: 16.12
Kevin Jones has shown he is more dud than stud and with the potential for Detroit to have a potent offense this year, 3rd round pick Brian Calhoun may just get a chance to show what he can do. If he does, he will be an absolute steal for anyone that takes him in the last round of the fantasy draft.
