Top 6 Quarterback Steals

thiefMake no mistake, these are not the six best players on the board, but they are the six best picks by position that you can make on draft day. Based on where they are currently being selected (ADP) in fantasy drafts, these players provide maximum value for their forecasted fantasy returns in 2006. <!--[endif]-->

For those of you who have already drafted, it’s not too late as we recommend trading for these Top Six Steals! If you plan on winning your league make sure to get a few of these gems on your team this season!

M. Brunell: Washington ADP: 13.03

If  Brunell can stay healthy, he will have a career season. Armed with Portis at RB, Santana Moss, Randle El, Brandon Lloyd and Chris Cooley as receivers, how can Brunell not succeed? Look for 30 TD’s which is a steal for a player being selected in the 13th round.

B. Volek: Tennessee  ADP: 13.11

Anytime Volek has started for the Titans over the last two years he has not only produced but had a four game stretch in 2004 that was among the greatest ever. Volek is obviously not the next Joe Montana, but given a full season, he will put up solid numbers as the Titans should be behind all year…at least until Young takes over in Week 15.

D. Culpepper: Miami  ADP: 7.03

Culpepper sucked last year. Worse yet, he is coming off of a mjor knee injury. Still, this is the same Culpepper that ranked in the top 5 fantasy points three out of the last four years. A trade to Miami may be just what the doctor ordered. With a solid running game and all pro receiver Chris Chambers, Culpepper will be a steal in the seventh round.

T. Green: Kansas City  ADP: 8.10

Many owners were burned last year selecting T. Green too high only to be disappointed with a 17TD season. Still, Green had over 4000 yards and has averaged 26 TD’s a year over the last three years. Consider last year the anomaly and take Green as a steal at the end of round 8.

B. Leftwich: Jacksonville   ADP: 11.12

Every year a QB comes from nowhere and makes a leap in fantasy stats.  In 2006, that QB will be B. Leftwich. Entering his fourth year, Leftwich has never thrown more than 15 TD’s, but this year will be different. With a slew of solid WR’s surrounding him and a steady ground attack, everything will click for Leftwich as he puts up solid, if not spectacular number sin 2006.

M. Leinart: Arizona   ADP: 15.02

Leinart is a rookie, but since USC is basically the 33rd NFL team, he is ready to play now. Arizona is loaded with offensive potential and if QB Kurt Warner should get hurt (he’s only played in 1/3 of the regualr season games over the last 4 years) Leinart can step in and be productive; especially for a 15th round pick.
