Week 12
Thanksgiving week in the NFL so there are Thursday games to worry about this week. Three games to be exact, one that many will not even see as this is the inaugural weekend for the NFL network broadcast of games. Last week or 2 or possibly 3 of the season for many fantasy teams and many are still fighting for a spot in the playoffs. Here is this week’s start ‘em / bench ‘em.
Miami @ Detroit
Miami has played much better since their by week ripping off 3 impressive wins in a row. Detroit has once again proved to be a disappointment. Expect Miami to pound the ball over and over again with Ronnie Brown. Chris Chambers is relegated to the pine, but could see an opportunity this week if you need a home run, but I go back to the Houston game and his failure there against a weak defense. Kevin Jones is not playing in this one, but it would not matter as Miami held Larry Johnson in check a few weeks ago. Miami should make it 4 and a row and be one game away from .500 while eating Turkey dinner.
Start ‘em – R. Brown, M. Booker, J. Harrington, R. Williams, J. Kitna, Miami D
Bench ‘em – C. Chambers, K. Jones, M. Furrey
Tampa Bay @ Dallas
Has everything fallen the Cowboys way this season? Romo turns out to be the right guy at the right time, the Giants are beset with injuries, the Eagles lost 4 winnable games and lost Donovan McNabb for the season. The Cowboys have the most favorable schedule going into the post season and will win the NFC East and could even be the #2 seed in the NFC. Tampa beat Washington last week but it really would be a Thanksgiving miracle if they could beat the Cowboys on the road even though the Cowboys just beat the Colts to end their undefeated season. Cowboys roll in this one.
Start ‘em – T. Romo, J. Jones, T. Owens, T. Glenn, J. Witten, J. Galloway
Bench ‘em – B. Gradkowski, C. Williams, M. Clayton, A. Smith
Denver @ Kansas City
Denver let one get away on Sunday night and now have to play again on Thursday on the road in one of the toughest places to play against the Chiefs. The Denver D needs to re-establish itself against the run after letting LT get 4 TD’s last week. Larry Johnson is licking his lips here. Denver can win if Jake Plummer can play a good game, but that has been few and far between this season. Trent Green will start for the 3rd time this year and will need to make Denver respect the pass. The Broncos are favored in this game and will have to win to keep pace in the NFC West to have a shot at the division.
Start ‘em – L. Johnson, T. Green, J. Walker, R. Smith
Bench ‘em – T. Gonzolez, S. Parker
Marginal – E. Kennison, J. Plummer, (M. Bell, T. Bell) – because of split carries
Rest of week to be done later...
