Start'em / Bench 'em Week 10
Here we are at the point in the season where we are made or broken. Some fortunes are made with an injury or with the emergence of a new star who keeps an old star on the bench. Who is going to be replaced? Who can you trust for the second half of the season?
Running Backs
Joseph Addai / Dominic Rhodes – it has become increasingly clear over the last couple of weeks that Addai has risen to the top of this rotation taking the majority of the carries. He is almost worth a weekly start for the next couple of weeks.
Tatum Bell / Mike Bell – Good for you if you were able to keep Mike Bell and wait until Tatum got hurt. Tatum will only get spot duty if / when he returns. This is Mike Bell’s job to get injured out of. Shanny does not hold jobs for injuries.
Corey Dillon / Laurence Maroney – This one is still a true RBBC. Do not rely too heavily on one or the other unless one gets hurt. Maroney has the better upside.
Titans – Stay away. Sure Travis Henry had one big day…think it will happen again? I wouldn’t bet on it. If it does you would have to pick the where and when and who want’s to do that when the season is on the line.
Shaun Alexander / Maurice Morris – Morris had one decent game against the Raiders. Alexander will be back in the next couple of weeks. Keep Morris though as Alexander’s foot is taking a long time to heal and he could re-injure himself.
Willis McGahee / Anthony Thomas – McGahee is out for an little bit of time with the cracked rib. Expect Thomas to be the guy for the next 2 – 3 weeks.
Thomas Jones / Cedric Benson – it has been clear that this is Jones’ job and Benson is just a guy who gives him breathers at this point. Benson has the upside, but only if Jones gets hurt.
Raiders – Come on.

Quarterbacks
Trent Green / Damon Huard – this was always Green’s job, but now that he is ready to come back Herm is not giving it back to him. Expect Huard to play until the team or his play goes south.
Matt Hasselbeck / Seneca Wallace – this is the week they miss Hasselbeck. When Hasselbeck is back he is the guy.
Aaron Brooks / Andrew Walters – this decision has already been made. If you have either you are obviously headed to the toilet bowl fantasy regions.
Bruce Gradkowski – he has shown his colors now – stay away.
Drew Bledsoe / Tony Romo – Parcells can not possibly go back to Bledsoe at this point – Bledsoe only plays again with injury to Romo.
Mark Brunell / Jason Campbell – One or two more losses, I bet Campbell is inserted. Esentially if the playoffs are out of contention then they will play the young guy and Brunell’s career is over.
Byron Leftwich / David Garrard – Leftwich lost the job? It appears so. This is a tricky one. It appears as if Leftwich could get the job back once he is healthy – which he contends he is. Garrard is the hot hand and so it is a safe bet to start the rest of the season, especially when the coach says Leftwich needs surgery and Left wich says he doesn’t.
Wide Receivers
Nate Washington / Santonio Holmes – Washington is the guy here at this time and should be for the remainder of the season.
Tim Carter / Sinorice Moss – With Toomer out this may be a toss up, but Moss has been unable to stay healthy, but this is a situation where it may not pay to have either. Carter will get his first duty against the Bears and if he does not perform the leash will be short.
Joe Horn / Devry Henderson – Henderson has performed well when called upon. Horn’s health may be a question and when he is out it is probably good to have Henderson on board.
