How was this possible? How could it be? How do the Cardinals squander a 20-3 lead and then end up losing to the Bears after forcing Grossman to turn the ball over 6 times? How can they lose without letting the other team score an offensive TD? Let's investigate the game and the fantasy impact of the performances.
What a wild and crazy game it was? We did learn that Anquan Boldin is a solid starter for your fantasy squads with Leinart at QB and no matter what defense they are playing. Edgerrin James was bad, 36 carries and 55 yards and a fumble, he only had one catch – that seems like a bad use of him. The Cardinal defense rose to the occasion. Dennis Green was left speechless and today fired his offensive coordinator. Leinart will need to spread the ball around more in the future even without Larry around.
The Bears were outplayed and won the game. Grossman – was he overrated or just had a horrible game? 6 turnovers – 4 Int’s and 2 lost fumbles. No running game to speak of as Thomas Jones had 39 yards on 11 carries. Desmond Clark was the main receiver for this team last night. Berrian only had 2 catches. The only positive of the game for the Bears is the fact that the Defense adjusted and for the fantasy savvy – scored 3 times! Technically, it was 2 times and a special teams score. The other positive was Robbie Gould is still perfect.
The Bears got lucky and this is a great example of why they play the games. It was a far cry from what we thought would happen in the game and we were not alone. It will be interesting to see how teams play the Bears from this point forward? I think the undefeated season is now a pipe dream as the team last night was far from what we have seen from the Bears this season.
Leinart is going to be good - sooner than later. Anquan Boldin is good now and completing the Preachermans prediction of doing better than Larry Fitzgerald this season.
