Week 6 Wrap-Up
What a wild week in the NFL.  Teams find their first wins and teams find ways to come back and win and others find ways to lose.  Blowouts and close games with lots of action means only one thing...fantasy points abound!  On to the week 6 recaps:

Buffalo 17 @ Detroit 20
Detroit was playing good enough and losing them, but this time they won this one.  What happened to the Buffalo D that was so good?  Kevin Jones (127 Yards Rushing), Roy Williams (161 Yards Receiving) had great fantasy days for their owners.  Kitna did pretty good as well.   Loseman and the Bills still need to find an identity.  It is obvious that Loseman and Evans have a connection, but there needs to be more explosiveness.  McGahee was the reason the Bills dumped Travis Henry and yesterday they had to wonder why.  Detroit is starting to get it – they have played well and now they may start seeing the effects of that pain of losing.  The Jets should not take them lightly and owners should play them, especially Williams each week.

Houston 6 @ Dallas 34
This game was 6-3 Houston at the half.   Carr lost his mind and tossed a couple of INT’s in the 2nd half and rendered Andre Johnson useless.  Dallas hardly had to do anything to make the score so large – Bledsoe threw for 168 yards before Romo came in to relieve him and Julius Jones only ran for 106 yards.  T.O. got all the press for the 3 TD’s he scored, but the yardage does not mesh with the final score.  Dallas still has some issues and may be able to work them out as the season progresses.  Houston was not even good for garbage time points.

Carolina 23 @ Baltimore 21
Carolina still has yet to lose with Steve Smith in the line up and he played big this week (8 catches for 189 yards) – looks like he is back now.  Baltimore lost Steve McNair early with a concussion and had to rely on Boller for most of the game.  Mark Clayton stepped into his own yesterday getting over 100 yards receiving.  Todd Heap produced a TD as well.  Jake Delhomme had a big day throwing 365 yards on the Ravens defense and showing that it can be done.  The Ravens offense was struggling on its own with McNair so it will be interesting to see if he is out for a while what Boller can do.

N.Y. Giants 27 @ Atlanta 14
I may be in the minority, but the Falcons were overrated and can be beaten easily if you force Michael Vick to be a QB.  The Giants did this and you see the result, even though he did scramble for a score he did not kill them.  It was Tiki Barber that killed the Falcons with 185 rushing yards which set up Eli for some easy TD passes.  Shockey had his best game of the season.  Warrick Dunn also had a good game, but in the end the Falcons either could not hold on to the ball (Jenkins) or the passes were not made.  You live by the feet, you die by the feet.

PROTRADE

Tennessee 25 @ Washington 22
Can anyone believe this one?  The Titans win on the road at Washington, with a rookie QB and it was their first win.  What happened to the vaunted Washington defense?  Travis Henry rushed for 178 yards – talk about making the most of your opportunity.  Vince Young did not play that well, but with a running game like that it is easy to win.  Washington and Gibbs and all of their coaches should be ashamed, especially coming off a bad divisional loss the week before.  Portis could not get it going being held to under 60 yards rushing and Brunell just can’t get it done anymore, perhaps they should have went for Drew Brees in the off-season.

Cincinnati 13 @ Tampa Bay 14
Roughing the passer call, come on now.  How many people are out of the suicide pool this week?  Cincinnati came out flat after being crushed by New England and then having a bye week to think about it.  If you can not get up for this then you deserve to lose.  Balanced receiving for the Bengals as Johnson had 99 yards and Houshmandzadeh had 102, but Housh had 10 catches.  Rudi could not get it going on the ground for the Bengals.  Gradkowski had a decent outing, nothing great, but he seems to be managing the offense in Tampa well, the Cadillac was running good gathering up 94 yards.  Alex Smith also scored in this match-up making him a decent start in TE leagues with the new QB.

Seattle 30 @ St. Louis 28
Seattle had a last minute win on a 54 yd. kick.  St. Lois was looking to control the division and did their best to get it done.  Seattle will not go down easy and keeps winning games.  Bulger is having his best season and reduced his errors this season.  He threw for 360 yards and 154 of those went to Tory Holt who scored 3 times.  Steven Jackson scored as well.  Seahawks had 2 scores from Branch, 94 yards from Jackson and a few long field goals as Hasselbeck was able to drive them far enough in the last minute to kick the game winner.  Branch is looking like the real deal again.

Philadelphia 24 @ New Orleans 27
What does it say that you waited until the second half to show up and then the other team takes 8minutes and 23 seconds to end the 4th quarter with a field goal to win the game?  It means your defense is not that good.  Now the Eagles have 2 games to look back on if they fail to make the playoffs.  The Saints had no trouble rushing or passing as Brees threw for 275 yards and Joe Horn scored 2 times after not scoring a single TD in his last 17 games.  Reggie Bush is fast.  The Saints D played better than the Eagles, neutralizing Westbrook and getting to McNabb quite a bit.  Eagles forgot the short passing offense and opted to try big plays instead of sustaining drives.

San Diego 48 @ San Francisco 19

LT had 4 rushing touchdowns…who is the number 1 pick?  Alexander, Johnson?  LT dropped to 3 in most drafts and if you did not wait you were rewarded.  Rivers also played well throwing for 334 yards and Parker had 7 grabs for 88 yards.  San Francisco had made it a game early and Alex Smith played pretty well as did Bryant, but all the scores came in the first half.  Rivers may be OK based upon the opponent.

Kansas City 7 @ Pittsburgh 45
You knew it was coming.  Pittsburgh was not going to lose 3 in a row, not at home this week and they pounded the Chiefs into submission and in the process gave Big Ben some confidence back.  Parker had over 100 yards and 2 TD’s.  Nate Washington and Hines Ward also had receiving TD’s.  KC could not get it going, Larry Johnson had 26 yards and a TD and that was it for the Chiefs.  Pretty much a one sided game as the Steelers righted the ship and kept pace in the division that saw both leaders drop their last 2.

Frederick's of Hollywood, Inc.

Miami 17 @ N.Y. Jets 20
Coles and Pennington are at it again.  Pennington threw for 175 yards and 106 of that went to Coles along with 2 TD’s.  Leon Washington and Barlow split carries with Washington winning the stat battle again.  Miami tried to tie it up late and missed on the field goal attempt, but Harrington played well down the stretch, hitting Chambers for a TD, but McMichael is the real target for Harrington Chambers is currently 4th in the pecking order.  Ronnie Brown did a great job and can still be counted on as he rushed for 127 yards and a score – curious as to why he was not involved more in the passing game.

Oakland 3 @ Denver 13
This was much closer than we thought.  Tatum bell made the Broncos go and scored and Javon Walker delivered the big plays.  It should have been a larger margin of victory.  We are not yet sold on the Broncos yet until they face off against stiffer competition.
The Raiders stink.  Randy Moss actually played and caught 5 balls for 83 yards.  Jordon was not as effective only gaining 60 yards on 23 carries.  Wait for next week when Oakland and Arizona meet.  Will Oakland get its first win?

Tonight’s Game

Chicago @ Arizona
This is a lock, isn’t it?  Da Bears are going to smoke the Cardinals for everyone to see on the Monday night stage.  What a better way to enter their bye week than to have a nice shutout victory on Monday night?

Prediction:  Chicago 38 – Arizona 13
